Dr. Valerie cai (MD/MBBS)

Co-founder

Valerie is a registered medical doctor and entrepreneur with a background in research. She currently practices medicine in the UK’s NHS and cofounded two companies in digital health and medical devices during medical school, pitching at events including The Mayor’s Entrepreneur Competition, Imperial College’s Ideas to Impact, and TATA Varsity Pitch. She is Clinical Safety Officer certified. Valerie has advised a variety of healthcare startups since 2023 and frequently sits on industry-wide panels to give her expertise on founding, funding, and healthcare.

She holds a MBBS from King’s College London and a BSc (Hons) from the Royal Veterinary College.

yvie lock (MSC)

Co-founder

Yvie is an analyst at a global corporate venture capital fund. She has passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst exams and previously worked under a global private wealth management fund, buying and selling publicly traded assets. She previously managed 320 assets under her portfolios. She is also the host of the podcast Ladies, Let’s Talk Health.

She holds an MSc in Bioengineering from Imperial College London and a BSc in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a full scholarship for being a competitive hockey player. She is an international athlete and the female individual champion of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge.

dr. ines de santiago (PHD)

Founding Partner, Strategy & Programs

Ines is a computational biologist and exited entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience across academia, biotech, and startups. She has founded and advised numerous early-stage biotech and women’s health ventures, including exiting a successful fertility InsurTech company that is now post-Series A.

She currently leads machine learning–driven approaches for siRNA design and target discovery at a biotech startup.

She holds a PhD in Computational Biology from Imperial College London and is an inventor on multiple patents in RNA therapeutics and cancer biology, with research published in Nature, Cell Stem Cell, and Nature Genetics.
